Windmill Project

Windmills uses wind to transfer into energy to power other things. It’s a great alternative source of energy. It is also renewable and clean. The blades on the windmill are connected to a drive shaft, which makes electricity, which is then transferred through wires, which is collected.

To make electricity, wind pushes the blades on the wind turbine of the windmill, which are the blades on the windmill. Most electrical generators have a gearbox, which is used to make the blades spin faster which is essential in a wind generator. A gearbox has many gears in it that spin to either increases the speed or the torque, or amount of force, of the generator, The electric generator must be pointed to the wind. The wind is usually brushing up against the tower of the windmill. Blades have to be stiff, so they don’t get pushed into the tower, and have to be far away from the tower because of the turbulence it causes.

The main rotor shaft and generator of a vertical-axis wind turbine is pointed vertical, which makes it so that the windmill doesn’t have to face the direction of the wind. It is also on the top of the tower, while a horizontal-axis wind turbine has the rotor shaft and generator at the bottom. With a vertical-axis wind turbine, the generator and gearbox are put near the ground, this way the windmill wont have to hold it up, but this causes cyclic stress, which is caused when the blades of the windmill are spinning up, which causes compressions, and when their turning down, it causes tension, which wears out the blades, axle, and bearing. Bearings are devices used to keep two pieces from falling apart. It uses the wind to spin a place in the center, which causes the entire windmill to spin around.

A horizontal-axis wind turbine uses friction to spin the blades of the windmill to generate electricity. The spinning of the blades starts to spin the gears in the gearbox even faster, which causes a much greater increase in energy creation. The wind generator and gearbox are on the top of the tower, so the tower must be very sturdy to be able to hold up the gearbox and blades.

Because wind is different everywhere, a windmill is built in different ways, depending on the location. This will change the size and shape of the blades, height of the tower, and control systems. The windmill can also only take up to 59% of the energy from air, no matter how well u design it.

Windmills have certain temperature limitations. They need to be specially made in areas with less than 20 degrees Celsius, to prevent frost from accumulating on the windmill, which could damage it and throw the anemometer off, which is used to measure wind speed. When the windmill collects energy from the air, the air is slowed down, which causes it to spread out. The specially designed windmills have different lubricants, and a heating system inside. The heating system requires more energy from the windmill, which reduces the amount of energy distributed to houses and other places in need of energy.

Wind turbines are used as an alternative source of energy; they use wind to spin blades, to create energy for people to fulfill their everyday lives. They need a sturdy tower, and face the direction of the wind. There are also many different types of windmills, which are used in different locations, depending on the wind there.
