Hadley Cell

Hadley Cells make up the global winds which are huge convection currents (or Hadley Cells) that stretch very long but they start at the equator. The sun heats up the equator the most for th te longest period of time. That heat rises bringing lots of air molecules up and when they get high in to the atmosphere, they cool off and space out north and south of the equator. After a while, the air molecules get too heavy and so they drop. A lot of the air molecules drop creating high pressure. When the heat brought up all those air molecules, it created a low pressure area and so the high pressure blows to the low pressure and that is the formation of a Hadley Cell

Global winds

There are four main parts to global winds. There are the trade winds that are alone 0-30 degrees longitude north and south of the equator. They are from the east and they don't blow straight down or up because of the Coriolis effect (See footnotes about Coriolis effect) and are what the hurricanes that hit the southern U.S. ride along. Next there are the westerlies. The go from 30-60 degrees longitude both north and south and (you guessed it) they come from the west. Last are the Easterlies. They are 60 degrees longitude north and south hemisphere. They come from the East. A section that is not really windy at all are the doldrums. It is along the equator and the winds go up rather than over so there are usually no winds there. It is low pressure there so sailores and pirates tend to stay away from them.1

The group had 3 accurate test and the unaccurate one that was soil, had a hole in the side that the grup didn’t notice until they finished. This group recorded temps for each bottle every 2 minutes. Afer the first 2 minuted, the bottle with asphalt and salt water (Salt concentration of the atlantic Ocean) the temperature was at 76 degrees F which was the lowest of the 3 tests. After 2 minutes, the experiment with salt water (Same concentraton) and white rocks plus the experiment with saldtwater were at 80 degrees F. They all rose extremely quickly and at eight minutes, asphalt test and white rocks were at 89 degreees F while the control was at 88 degrees F. From recoredings at 8 to 10 minutes, each of them went down 1 to 2 degrees and all 3 stayed at what they were at. From 12 to 14 minutes the control went up by one degree making it 88 degrees F and at the same time, the white rocks decreased by one degree making it 86 degrees F. The one with asphalt went in a dramatic opposite direction going from 88 degrees F to 92 degrees F having a 4 degree spike upwards. The asphalt test over tth enext 4 minutes had a steady increase of 1 degree e very 2 minutes getting up to 94 degrees F at 18 minutes. Between 16 and 20 minutes of testing, the white rocks and the control were at a steady 86 degrees F. Between 20 and 24 minutes, the asphalt decreased by one and then stayed level while the control and white rocks test went up from both at 86 degrees F to the white rocks being at 89 degrees F and the control at 88 degrees F. between 30 minutes and 34 minutes of testing, the asphalt test spiked from 91 degrees F to 100 degrees F. The white rocks and the control don’t change dramatically towards the end with white rocks ending at 90 degrees F after 36 minutes and the control ending at 92 degrees F and the asphalt test at 96 degrees F. The test went ok despite human errors.
